Mineral specimens are uncommon from this famous Colorado open pit and underground molybdenum mine, as this was a large bulk tonnage operation and collecting was forbidden by management. This large sharp, elongated cube has mirror-bright, brass-yellow color and fine stepped-growth form. Edge wear and contacting are noted, but this remains and excellent, highly representative, large pyrite from this noted locale. Seldom on the market in this size and quality. Some of Colorado's finest pyrite specimens have come from here. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and from the George White Collection, according to his label. A must for the species or locality collector.
