Large Pyrite Concretion (unusual form!)

Item Description

This large, striking unusually shaped pyrite concretion looks like a shoe from cartoon character or a slipper sock! Most specimens have a "ball" shape, but this strange piece is weirdly distorted and appears to be two intergrown balls. The small, sparkling, sharp, modified, metallic pyrite crystals have formed in amazingly concentric "rings" or "bands" on the shale. A very cool large specimen with the attachment at the top. It is certainly one of the most unusual large ones we have offered at auction.
