Large Pyrite Concretion

Item Description

An impressive large pyrite concretion ball with a nifty "spout" from recent Chinese finds. The small, sparkling, sharp, modified, metallic pyrite crystals have formed in amazingly concentric "rings" or "bands" on the shale. A very cool large specimen. Essentially pristine, except for the attachment/contact at the "spout". These incredibly interesting pyrite concretions are some of the most unique specimens that we have seen from any locality. NOTE: I bought these in 2013 and we have seen no more for sale since early 2015 in China, so this find may be over.
