Large Prehnite (classic CT)

Item Description

An impressive, amazingly sculptural large solid prehnite specimen from this Connecticut trap rock quarry, well-known for fine prehnite pieces. The bulging 3-dimensional front is totally covered with translucent, rich mint-green botryoids with satin lustre faces. The dramatic cavernous back is composed of much larger intergrown clusters of botryoids, giving a fantastic contrast from front to back. Scattered bruising and periphery wear are noted, but are certainly acceptable in the context of such a large, rich and important Connecticut prehnite.
