Large polished Copper glacial drift slab (6.3 pounds mass)

Dramatic and impressive! A striking sculptural large sawed and polished two-sided slab of copper glacial drift "float" from famed Copper Country. Glaciation ripped this piece from the outcrop and transported it a short distance in Ontonagon County. The scattered quartz blebs and associated matrix with green epidote or chlorite and some distinctively green malachite adds much pizzazz and color. Both sides have been coated with krylon or an epoxy to add to the lustre. 2856 grams or 6.3 pounds mass. Classic large float copper from the Keweenaw. An outstanding large example from this historic locale. The last of a small lot we obtained recently that came out of an old collection. These are not easy to get in the size - copper does not saw very well, and just kills the diamond blades quickly. Also, it is more beautifully polished and richer in color than most we have seen before. Just a very interesting copper country artifact for home or office.
