Item Description

Splendent brassy pyrite octahedrons, to 2.2 cm, are densely intergrown on this extremely rich and sculptural large mounded specimen of solid pyrite from the famed Huanzala Mine. An impressive and essentially pristine 270-degree piece with only trivial bruising for such crystal density. The attachment is at one end and the base. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired from Dick Willis of Willis Earth Treasures in 2005. This mine is one of the world's great pyrite localities and this is a very rich and fine large example of this pyrite style from Huanzala. Hefty pyrite at 1574 grams or 3.5 pounds mass.
