Item Description

Calcite is RARE from this famous mine, renowned for world-class gem reddish-orange sphalerite crystals. This dramatic large scalenohedron has a sharp large phantom of an earlier scalenohedron encased within! The complete all-around and essentially pristine, translucent and lustrous light gray crystal has alligator hide-like stepped-growth frosted faces. The accenting side cars are a fine accent. The noted contact at the base, where other crystals once lay, has trivial bruising and has no impact to the overall exceptional quality of this large rarity. Ex Orellana Collection.
