Item Description
A large showy cluster of intergrown flesh-colored orthoclase crystals from an unknown locality in the Betroka District. The impressive, sharp central crystal is 8.7 cm tall. The crystal on the left is broken, but this remains a rare and large example of the species and locale. Muscovite and quartz are embedded in the back and base. These are not microcline crystals and MINDAT does not list microcline for Itrongay. Old material from the Bob Trimingham Collection, acquired in 1966.
