Item Description
A VERY RARE, colorful and impressive large section of opalized wood from an EXTREMELY obscure locale in Thailand. Lustrous, porcelaneous, multi-hued white to yellow to light brown sections of the interior of the large tree limb or trunk are dramatically accented by the three areas of dark brown furrowed fossilized tree bark. Unique opal-replaced wood from the locale self-collected by Chet Lemanski in 1967 while stationed in Khorat by the US Army from borrow pits to build a nearby air base. This was during the Vietnam War. Mass is 2523 grams or 5.6 pounds. TRY to find another from here! A MUST for the opal collector!
