Item Description

This is a significant, important specimen for both size and quality : Sharp, terminated, lustrous, jet-black neptunite prisms, with desirable areas of red under bright light are richly festooned on the starkly contrasting white natrolite crust on this impressive and classic large combination from the famous Dallas Gem Mine. Well-formed crystals reach 2.9 cm on this dramatic specimen. The sculptural underlying matrix is serpentine. Scattered bruising is noted, but certainly has minimal impact to the overall high quality, richness and form of this very fine and expressive large combination plate. The back and one edge have been sawed on this striking large specimen. Ex Chat Lemanski Collection and acquired in 2001 at the TGMS Banquet Auction in Tucson. Mass is 3056 grams or 6.7 pounds. Perhaps one of the largest neptunite plates out there, one would think! Valued $2500
