Item Description
An extremely rich and showy large silver ore specimen from the famous mines at Kongsberg. The highly sculptural vein of coasely crystalline, hackly silver with a nice patina is dramatically set on a block of country rock hosting pods of contrasting milky quartz. A bit of scattered acanthite is also noted. Much of the silver has a gorgeous, brassy, patina. This is an old-time and excellent specimen from this historic district and comes from the John Durkos and Bob Hauck Collections. Valued today at $3000, or more. IMPRESSIVE in person - 374 grams (or nearly a pound) in weight!
