Large native Graphite (Trimingham Coll.)

Here we have a RARE, large, bright to moderate metallic lusterd, mass of foliated pure elemental carbon from this extinct old Cumbria mine. The piece has a greasy feel, as you would expect. Not pretty, but highly representative and uncommon - this was once an important industrial material and few such large specimens come to market from this old mining region.
