Item Description

Mineral specimens of any variety are quite uncommon from the Stratford area of New Hampshire, but here is a striking and rare example. A large, sharp, 7.4 x 6.0 cm, pearlescent, silvery-brown, hexagonal crystal is jauntily set in marble matrix on this very attractive specimen. This is a large muscovite crystal for any New Hampshire locality. NOTE ADDED FROM OUR SOURCE : was field collected by Bart Bauers of New Jersey who was a member of the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences. Definitely collected before 1976.
