Item Description

An important and outstanding morganite collected by mine owner Roland Reed in February, 2005 from this well-known mine. This most impressive, blocky hexagonal crystal has rich pink color and a fabulous gemmy, transparent to translucent C-face along with four of the six prism faces. It is actually a doubly terminated crystal. The piece is in great shape. One end is contacted, but there is very little damage, per se. The base of the other end is dinged, but you really don't notice it in the primary display view. Morganite specimens of this quality are RARE from here. Valued at $2500 and worth it. A must for the San Diego County pegmatite collector. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
