Item Description
A VERY RARE and large partially hexagonal layered Mica Group plate (Biotite or Muscovite species) from this well-known exotic alkaline-ultrabasic massif on the Kola Peninsula of Russia. The striking two-sided striated greenish-black plate has fantastic pearlescent lustre. An included 3.4 cm crystal visible on both sides is a super accessory. The massif is famous as the Type Locality of many very rare silicates and phosphates. MINDAT features no photographs of Mica Group species in the locality Photo Gallery. Rare large mica from the Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired in 1996.
