Item Description
Precious opal is RARE from the Spencer Opal Mine, that produced mostly common opal and hyalite opal. A beautiful and colorful polished 4.3 x 3.3 x 0.5 cm section with striking sparkly rainbow hues is dramatically set atop common opal on the impressive large spherulitic black obsidian matrix. The mine was platted in 1955 and the faded older large 4 x 6" card label is probably from the 1960s or 70s. Ex Taylor Hunt Collection. Beautiful and RARE old precious label from this Idaho mine of value for locality, but also simply because it is a large and pretty USA opal!.
