A fantastic, amazingly colorful, incredibly sculptural AND totally unexpected large pseudomorph from the famous and ancient mines at Cavnic. The striking elongated clusters of gorgeous pastel-pink, 3-dimensional, bubbly botryoids of manganoan calcite look like shrubs. They have this incredible and beautiful shimmer, that was hard for the camera to capture. The major SURPRISE is on the backside! Here fabulous large, sharp parallel-growth gypsum crystals have been casted by the calcite. The large central cast is 12.5 cm! The calcite does not fluoresce. RARE and surreal large Cavnic manganoan calcite with dramatic large gypsum pseudos on the back from the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. Valued at $2500 and worth it for quality, striking size and as a pseudomorph.
