Large Manganoan Calcite (fluorescent!)

Wow! A huge and impressive doubly terminated manganoan calcite from the famous Nikolaevskiy Mine. The glassy and lustrous crystal has pretty pastel-pink color complimented by the nifty stepped-growth faces. The primary termination is beautifully gem clear and has only trivial scuffing at the tip. The lower termination is contacted/lightly cleaved. The attachment with matrix is at the base. Dal'negorsk, like Tsumeb, is renowned for calcite diversity and quality and this is a most striking and excellent large example. Neon orange-pink fluorescence. 1379 grams or 3.0 pounds mass.
