Item Description
A spectacular, large, two-sided, combination specimen from recent finds at this remote and now important Chinese locale. A dramatic, 12.7 x 10.5 cm, rosette of lustrous, pastel-pink, paper shell, manganoan calcite disks is artistically perched atop a sloping field of glassy, translucent, quartz points. A sharp, 3.8 cm on the diagonal, manganoan calcite rhomb on the left side is a very nice accent. The back side is decidedly different! Here you can see, that the parallel-growth disks of the rosette are strikingly set on an earlier generation, impressive, 10.0 cm on the diagonal, tannish-pink, manganoan calcite rhomb. Quartz is the specimen matrix and the 6.7 cm quartz point is a super accent. This sculptural, two-sided monster is nearly pristine, and has only the most trivial periphery wear. There is a weird, highly etched part of second rhomb between the rosette and the large, sharp rhomb. Super oranage fluorescence, as you would expect!
