Item Description

Supremely high luster all-around on this impressive large malachite specimen from one of the many copper-cobalt mines of DR Congo. Striking variably-sized, rich green, bubby botryoids comprise this sculptural 3-dimensional, tapered piece. The lighter green dense banding on one side and multitude of botryoids on the back side add even more character to this fascinating malachite. Please note that this is indeed (highly and expertly) polished to remove a coating and/or make it a continuous and lustrous surface. Mass is 1959 grams or 4.3 pounds mass. Comes with a custom-made lucite base (valued at $185) for free. A very distinctive and fine large malachite display or decorative specimen from DR Congo with high lustrous polish. Classic and most excellent material.
