Fantastically sculptural, colorful and very uncommon large malachite and quartz combination from the well-known Live Oak pit at the famous Globe-Miami Mining District of Arizona. The striking banded malachite and quartz with brecciated matrix hosts a stunning large and sculptural around-the-horn vug. The floor of the vug is spectacularly covered with rich green spherical aggregates of acicular primary malachite. The recessed roof of the vug hosts numerous contrasting spherical aggregates of sparkly drusy quartz. Adding a dramatic aspect to the piece, part of the malachite field is covered with a surreal crust of light green, copper-infused, sparkly, very spiky, drusy quartz. 4007 grams or 8.8 pounds mass. Ex John Dagenais Collection, a well-known Canadian collector. He passed away in 2022. An other worldly, large and rare style of malachite and quartz from the famous locale.
