Macle-twinned spinel crystals of this large size are very rare from Mogok and this is an exceptional example from the Dr. Ed David Collection. The beautiful, juicy raspberry-red crystal has high waxy luster and excellent translucence. Complete all-around and pristine, with only a contacted base. Ed was Science Advisor to President Nixon and has assembled several world-class mineral collections. 101 grams mass. This was valued at $1500 in our inventory from the old collection.
