Item Description
A RARE large old pseudomorph from this well-known agate geode producing district in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Bone-white Kaolinite has replaced the striking, 9.0 cm tall, triangular, 3-dimensional agate geode with stunning, dense, sculptural banding on one end of the very vesicular, sculptural matrix. Sections of other pseudomorphed geodes on the piece add even more fascinating character. 800 grams or 1.8 pounds mass. The Salto do Jacui area is well-known as a major source of agate in the form of geodes from Brazil (MINDAT). This is the LAST specimen of the small lot we received several years ago. UNIQUE old-time material from a limited mid-1960s finds. Value of such pseudomorph rarity??? A MUST for the pseudomorph, quartz, agate or locality collector! We obtained one large flat of these in a collection, and have not had others.
