Shocking iridescent golden, magenta and peacock-blue chalcopyrite crystals are festooned on the sculptural, large and hefty silicified limestone matrix on this impressive and colorful specimen from the famous Sweetwater Mine. The undulating, 3-dimensional surface adds to the panache of this striking piece and the chalcos spill over onto the vuggy back of the piece, as a bonus. The iridescence is even brighter on the back and both sides are peppered with small sharp dolomite rhombs. From the Dr. Barratt Phillips Collection. 6.4 pounds or 2.9 kilos mass.
