Item Description

Goosecreekite is one of the very rarest Zeolite Group species and the world's finest examples easily come from the famed Deccan Traps of Maharashtra. A superb, very large 6.8 cm, lustrous, crystallized compound goosecreekite "ball" is aesthetically set in the sculptural large vug in basalt matrix. The impressive, glassy snow-white crystals are beautifully framed by the vug shape, which is fully lined with wormy, popcorn-like chalcedony. The size of the cluster, balance in the matrix, and the pure white color, combined with high luster, make this an exceptional specimen in combination. It was offered at a major 2004 Museum auction (Carnegie Museum , Pittsburgh) and was valued at $2500-3500. It is easily worth the same today. Here's your chance to obtain a major rare large Indian zeolite at a competitive price point.
