RARE, old-time "schwarzbleierz", black lead ore from the Upper Levels at famed Tsumeb. The very sharp, matte-finish, twinned and untwinned, charcoal-gray cerussite crystals are included with galena. The crystals are richly and dramatically set in a fantastic boxwork matrix of earlier, thin, coated paper cerussite crystals! We chipped a tiny bit of the matrix off the back to prove it wasn't calcite. Calcite was possibly dissolved away from the interiors of the boxwork. This surreal and rare old-timer certainly dates to prior to World War II and probably dates to prior to World War I! VERY RARE on the market in this quality and size. Valued at $1750-2000 and worth it.
