Item Description

A large impressive old hemimorphite crystal from Santa Eulalia. The very glassy, translucent, tapered, parallel-growth tabular crystal has striking stepped-growth faces and a rounded blunt termination. Two attached similar side car crystals and the preferential iron oxide coating and inclusions on one side add real pizzazz to this excellent and pristine crystal. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5460 and acquired from Norm Dawson at Long Beach in 1968. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). An exceptional large and pristine Santa Eulalia hemimorphite.
