Item Description
Helvite is an uncommon manganese, beryllium silicate. Helvite is not well known and is rarely found from Tongbei, China, which has become very famous for its spessartine. For the species and locale, this is a large, sharp, tetragonal crystal. The lustrous, crystal is strikingly color-zoned: the sides are brown; and the front and back are tan and brown, with partially gemmy areas. Very unusual. The razor termination is pristine. Highly representative, large and uncommon material from this noted locale.
