Item Description
Luscious rich rose-pink color highlights this striking, large and sharp grossular garnet from this noted locale. The textbook dodecahedron is very glassy, has high luster and is translucent. Complete all-around. Those are two sections of straw-yellow vesuvianite embedded in the faces. Contacting is noted on two sides, where other crystals once lay, but there is very little damage, per se. Most of the contacting is out of sight in the preferred display views. The crystals GLOWS, when backit and the broken base reveals the the striking color variations and the symmetrical radial growth of the crystal. This is old-time, seldom available material from the 1950s finds by California dealer George Burnham. Classic and excellent Mexican grossular. 276 grams mass.
