Item Description
Large, impressive, sharp, old-time grossular garnet from well-known Sierra de Cruces. The striking, well-formed dodecahedron has olive-green color with glassy and lustrous, partially translucent faces. The imposing crystal is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a few gently bruised corners and edges. The attachment on the nifty sidecar crystal reveals the darker interior banding of the crystal. Ex Rubin Avila Collection. Classic and excellent old-time material from the 1950s or 60s and seldom available today. Hefty piece, at 346 grams of solid garnet!
