Item Description
This is a superb, sculptural, large elongated gemmy topaz crystal that is glassy and gemmy on one face and side, with the back face and side exhibiting a frosted appearance which was created by fluids flowing from the back of the crystal. The color is that of champagne, and is classic for this modern locality that produces in fits and spurts. This piece was from the first large pocket brought out to the West that I know of, sold off in Tucson in the late 1990s. It has long since been in the collection of Robert Nowakowski, of Detroit. I also love the small topaz crystal that is aesthetically perched at the top of the main crystal, making the chisel termination show much added character! The mass is 459 grams or just over a pound. Beautiful, pristine and impressive. The locality is given as the Wah Tu Wah Mine. Valued at $2000. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!
