Item Description
Wow! This is certainly a dramatic, large doubly terminated, twinned, gemmy, Elmwood calcite. The architecture of this huge crystal is enhanced by the attached "pistol grip" crystal. The gemmy terminations are the glorious and desirable, rich golden-amber. For the impressive size, the primary termination is all there, with just a trivial bit of edge wear off of the tip. The other termination is cleaved. The rest of this monster has only a trivial bit of edge and side wear. The two lower side car crystals are contacted and one has a gently cleaved tip. Overall, the damage is certainly minimal to the dramatic impact of this monster. It displays beautifully with or without aid. This was found in the early days of the late 70s or 80s, and was long in the Elmwood collection of dealers Consie and Dalton Prince of Houston, Texas, who valued this piece at $1800. It displays like a million bucks and is very impactful in person, exemplified by the gemmy, rich golden-amber terminations.
