large gemmy DT Aquamarine

Item Description

A really cool and impressive large doubly terminated aquamarine crystal from the Skardu Area of Pakistan. The gemmy, very glassy and lustrous textbook hexagonal crystal has rich ice-blue color. The upper 3.5 cm of the dramatic stepped-growth primary termination is water-clear with the lower part of the stepped-growth termination area being rehealed. The next 4.5 cm is gemmy with more veils and the remainder of the prism's body is gemmy/translucent. The basal termination also has stepped-growth and the area with the 2.5 cm schorl section is the attachment. The schorls are fine contrasts and accessories. Complete all-around, this is a significant and highly unusual looking large doubly terminated gemmy aqua with excellent color from the well-known locale. Hefty mass is 343 grams or 3/4 of a pound. Fairly valued at $6500-7500 .
