Item Description

Opposing steep terminations highlight this impressive large old doubly terminated quartz from the famous Ron Coleman Mine of Arkansas. The striking gem crystal is mostly water-clear with very few interior veils in most of the crystal, with more at one end. High glassy lustre enhances the subtle stepped-growth prism faces. Some crystals faces are glass-clear, while other are lightly frosted, adding interest. A couple of attached side car crystals, to 5.0 cm (doubly terminated) add more character. Complete all-around and in good shape. One termination is pristine with the other having two barely noticeable bruises (mostly on the back side). A contact on one side, where another crystal once lay, is out-of-sight on the primary display side. A classic large old gemmy doubly terminated Arkansas quartz with striking steep terminations. 814 grams.
