A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous sharply terminated mint-green diopside crystal from this fabled locale, source of incredible tanzanite crystals. The complete all-around crystal is supremely glassy and lustrous. The termination is pristine. Out-of-sight contacting on the middle of the back, where another crystal once lay, has no damage, per se. The lustrous, greasy graphite is a striking and excellent accent. Diopside crystals can grow larger from other deposits, but there is no doubt that these are the gemmiest in the world and few from here reach this large size. A large, high quality example of the species and noted locale.
