An impressive, large, water-clear, colorless, topaz crystal from Teofilo Otoni, Brazil. The complete all-around crystal has a highly unusual, angled and modified, chisel termination. This striking crystal has several distinctive characteristics: some faces are preferentially glassy, water-clear; some are striated; some are etched; and the nifty internal crazing gives totally different looks from every side. Two faces bear the impressions of small crystals, that have been removed, adding character. Modest edge and periphery wear are noted, along with a couple of dings and some contacting. So it is not perfect on close inspection though it looks impressive. Irregardless, this remains a large, highly representative and gemmy older Brazilian topaz from a noted locale. Hefty at 338 grams mass. Valued by the former dealer at $895. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!
