large gem Indicolite Tourmaline "pencil" (circa 2010 find)

Classic teal-blue color on this impressive, limpid gem pencil indicolite tourmaline from circa 2009-2010 finds at the famed Pederneira Mine. The well-striated, very glassy trigonal crystal is highly lustrous. A narrow 1 mm rubellite red zone lies below the matte purple pinacoidal termination. The two very clean repairs on the crystal are certainly acceptable in the context of pegmatite species. VERY difficult to photograph correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high luster, and striations. MUCH better in person! An excellent and classic large gem Pederneira indicolite. 7 grams or 35 carats mass. We had one large group of these found in our warehouse storage from the 2010 era, and when it is gone, it is gone!
