Striking, highly unusual form on this large twice broken and recrystallized gem pencil aquamarine crystal from the Shigar Valley. The stunning doubly terminated water-clear crystal has gorgeous sky-blue color and is very glassy, lustrous and well-striated. The two healed breaks took place from tectonic movement in the pegmatite during crystal formation. Older material from the 1990s or early 2000s. Ex Dr. Ed David Collection, science advisor to President Nixon. We bought his second collection when he was in his 80's, in 2005, and sold this at the time - it still has his unique catalog number on the side. Unique rehealed form to the large slender doubly terminated water-clear gem pencil, beautiful blue color and excellent provenance make this a remarkable and beautiful large aquamarine. Valued at $5500 and worth it.
