Item Description
This well-known nickel mine has produced some of the finest examples of the rare nickel carbonate gaspeite and has also produced the greatest variety of secondary nickel minerals found anywhere in the world to date (MINDAT). It seldom crystallizes. This is an extremely rich and colorful large two-sided plate of striking, lime-green gaspeite. Botryoidal masses of microcrystals and crusts cover both sides of the plate. This is a very high quality and rich large piece. The mineral so seldom forms in this quality, and is apparently quite difficult to find as not much comes to market despite its beauty. This very rich, VERY LARGE and important specimen is from the 132 North Nickel Mine of Western Australia. RARE on the market in this size, quality and richness.
