Item Description

Lustrous, metallic-gray, modified galena cuboctahedrons comprise this impressive large sculptural mounded plate from this famous old Alston Moor lead-zinc-fluorite mine. The striking large dominating crystal at the crest is 6.0 cm and the couple of patches of sparkly drusy quartz are a nice accessory. Galena specimens of this size, richness and quality are RARE from here. Ex Dr. Steven Moreton Collection and illustrated in the locality Photo Gallery with a September, 2018 photo by him. It was collected in 2003.
