Item Description
A large, VERY BEAUTIFUL, completely fossilized ammonite from the Cretaceous Period when dinosaurs roamed the earth, with the chambers clearly visible, some of them completely filled with minerals and others hollow. Looks like modern art! Sliced and polished on both sides to bring out the beauty. This is Upper Cretaceous Cleoniceras species. This is definitely one of the better ones with have offered at auction. The chambers are super-sharp and have diverse color variation. The back has flashes of red, opal-like fire.
