Item Description
Impressive large old-time fluorite from the historic mines of Alston Moor. Two large cubes are dramatically superimposed atop each other and are nicely flanked by smaller crystals. The top cube is 5.5 cm long. The very glassy, lustrous cubes are light purple to gray to colorless. Hard to see, but the two corners on the large cubes are colorless gem. The rest of the crystals are gemmy to translucent. Preferential clusters of brown siderite rosettes, especially on the top are a super accessory. The display faces are in great shape for such large old-timer, with only trivial edge bruising and the acceptable periphery wear. Striking bright white-purple UV fluorescence! Fluorescence under any bright light. From an East Coat Collection. An exceptional large fluorite and siderite combination for the locale. valued $1500
