Item Description

Striking, rare and impressive large old-time fluorite combination material from the historic mines at Alston Moor. The mounded specimens hosts amazingly limpid flourite cubes, that are dramatically, preferentially and richly overgrown first with rust-brown siderite disks followed by frosted, translucent calcite rhombs. Some of the fluorites, especially the 2.7 cm penetration pair near the center, look like cut glass! Some cubes have frosted, satin lustre faces. The fluorites are actually colorless, but any lighting reveals purple fluorescence! Rich purple UV fluorescence. Undoubtedly old-time material, but no proof. From an East Coast collection. Classic, rare and rich Alston Moor fluorite combination material.
