Item Description
A RARE and impressive large fluorite plate from this prominent early Fluorspar District mine, that operated from 1922 to 1937. Lustrous and translucent, large rich lavender cubes, to 5.8 cm, have a striking preferential secondary overgrowth of tiny fluorite cubes. Scattered clusters of tiny golden chalcopyrite crystals and a couple of galena cuboctahedrons are a colorful accent. The piece displays dramatically from either direction and GLOWS, when back lit. Modest purple fluorescence. Ex Charles Noll Collection, a prominent Wisconsin collector, who passed away in 2014. Mineral specimens of any species from this mine are EXTREMELY RARE and this piece hosts three species.
