large Fluorite Gemstone

Here is an important and large, fine, clear cut gemstone of fluorite from the premiere English fluorite location for green fluorite. In fact, it might be the world's best location for green fluorite. This came from the personal collection of the late Tim Sherburn of San Diego, and Tim was the person who spent most of two decades cleaning and prepping green English fluorite. He had the best eye, great taste, and access....and so he kept numerous souvenirs of his work in cleaning and prepping the material for several owners of the mine. This is an old stone, acquired in the early 2000s in the era when it was mined by Cal Graeber and his team. It is 37.90 carats. Provenance from Tim's collection is, to those of us who knew him and treasured him, an extra bonus. This was perhaps his favorite location. He was a true connoisseur of Rogerley material. A stone this big and clean, with such consistent and strong color, would be considered quite rare, and should be valued highly compared to other cut gemstones of fluorite from other localities, especially when this size has such even color saturation - as we see here. While green fluorite specimens from this mine are all too common, after all, large cuttable crystals are NOT at all common.
