Large Fluorite, Baryte, Sphalerite & Dolomite (Allen Dillwith Coll.)

An impressive large fluorite combination from the famous Elmwood Mine and the Allen Dillwith Collection. Densely stepped-growth fluorite cubes with satin luster faces richly and aesthetically cover the sculptural matrix wedge of silicified limestone coated with dolomite rhombs. The cubes look very dark purple in normal light, but GLOW with rich violet color, when back lit, especially the large 5.3 cm across crystal! The "prow" of the ship-shaped matrix hosts a classic 3.7 cm rubyjack sphalerite crystal cluster with a fine complementary and starkly contrasting 2.4 cm tabular crystallized barite "ball". There is another smaller sphalerite near the back of the fluorites. The fluorites in the striking display view are pristine and the end bruise to the large sphalerite is certainly only a modest detraction to this very showy large combination classic from Elmwood.
