Large floater Benitoite xl (Ed Bancroft Coll.)

Benitoite crystals are a desirable California classic and with the famous Dallas Gem Mine now being extinct, even more so. This floater, pristine, textbook, sharp trigonal crystal is blue-gray with one zone of classic indigo-blue and has moderate luster. While not gemmy due to inclusions of crossite, it is a very textbook-shaped large single crystal and is a very highly represenative example of the species and locale. Ex Ed Bancroft Collection and probably dates to the 1960s or 70s, or even earlier. this single crystal is about 11 grams! value?
