A superb, large, old fishtail-twinned calcite crystal from the famous Joplin Field of the Tri-State District. The classic sharp textbook terminations of this impressive, stout crystal enhance the gorgeous, rich golden-amber color of this highly lustrous, gemmy to translucent crystal. Adding pizzazz, the complex faces are preferentially glass smooth to rippled. Complete all-around essentially pristine, with only a barely noticeable bruise on one tip and along one edge. The form, rich color and gemminess of this exceptional old-timer are outstanding. Fairly valued at $2000-2250. RARE on the market in this size and quality.
