Item Description
An impressive, rich and colorful large combination from this famous alkaline complex. Lustrous, glassy, translucent magenta eudialyte with starkly contrasting black amphiboles dominates the front of this sculptural piece. The rest of this striking piece is nearly solid blocky cleavages of pearly, translucent grayish-brown Agrellite, a very rare silicate with flourine. Kipawa is the Type Locality. The agrellite fluoresces pink in both the LW and SW UV shots, along with an unknown green fluorescent mineral on the front. Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named. Quality combination specimens of this dramatic size and richness from the Kipawa are very uncommon and this is an outstanding example. 2675 grams or 5.9 pounds mass.
