Large Epidote xl (RARE Namibia)

Item Description

A VERY RARE and very significant large epidote from this obscure farm in the Gamsberg Area. Impresssive, with stout parallel-growth form, the 360-degree piece has very high lustre and typical dark olive-green color. The striking stepped-growth primary termination and side cars add architectural pizzazz to this outstanding epidote. The crystal is partially doubly terminated, with most of the lower end being contacted. Complete all-around, the bit of noted periphery wear is certainly acceptable in the context of this large rarity. This is a very significant epidote for Namibia, and pretty good by other standards as well. The Gamsberg Area is noted for Alpine-cleft type minerals and this is an exceptionally rare large epidote.
